Alasdair Harvey

 

Alasdair has worked extensively both in Theatre and Television. Theatre credits include: Forbidden Broadway (Menier Chocolate Factory), Frankie Harris in the Ray Davies award winning musical COME DANCING (Theatre Royal Stratford East), SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM (The Venue), Boatman/Dennis in the multi award winning production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Chocolate Factory/Wyndhams), PUTTING IT TOGETHER, (Harrogate Theatre), Wild Bill Hickok in CALAMITY JANE (National Tour), Bill Cracker in Happy End (Thursty Dog), Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS (Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh), Pirate King, PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Bromley Open Air), Alec D’Urberville in TESS OF THE D’URBERVILLES (Savoy Theatre), the Original Beast in Disneys BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Dominion Theatre), Raoul in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Her Majesties Theatre), Grantaire/Marius/Enjorlas in LES MISERABLES (Palace Theatre), RNT production of CAROUSEL (Shaftesbury Theatre), Cliff in SUNSET BOULEVARD (Adelphi Theatre), ASPECTS OF LOVE (National Tour), Fiddler on the Roof (West Yorkshire Playhouse), MY FAIR LADY (National Tour) BLITZ! Alasdair has worked extensively as a concert artist both on radio and internationally, working with some of the worlds leading Symphony Orchestra including Halle, Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Schenzen Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

As a director Alasdair has previously directed Two and Shirley Valentine and most recently Ladies Day all at the Garrick Rep in Lichfield.

 

 

Rebecca Caine

 

Rebecca Caine was born in Toronto and studied at the Guildhall School of Music, London.

 

Uniquely, her career has been divided between Opera and Musical Theatre, making her West End debut at 19 in the role of Laurey in Oklahoma! She then sang the role of Eliza in My Fair Lady on the National tour. While making her debut at Glyndebourne as Amor in L’incoronazione di Poppea, she was asked to join the Royal Shakespeare Company where she created the role of Cosette in Les Miserables. After a successful West End run she joined the original cast of Phantom of the Opera to play Christine opposite Michael Crawford. She then returned to Toronto to repeat the role in the Canadian premiere of Phantom. During her run in Toronto she joined the Canadian Opera Company to make her highly praised North American debut in the title role of Lulu.

 

Other work with the Canadian Opera Company includes: Vixen, Pamina, Despina, Micaëla. Elsewhere, roles include Pamina (Glimmerglass); Pamina, Musetta, Susanna (English National Opera); Ophelia Hamlet, Aminta Il re pastore, Anna 1 Seven Deadly Sins (Opera North), Balkis L’incontro improvviso (Nice); Vixen (Spoleto); Violetta (Opera Northern Ireland),Clomiri Imeneo (Handel Opera Society) Mary Turner Of Thee I Sing, Leila The Pearlfishers (Atlanta Opera) Marguerite Faust(Opera Festival of New Jersey), Musetta ( De Vlaamse Opera) Hanna The Merry Widow (Opera Holland Park), Mrs Coyle Owen Wingrave (Chicago Opera Theater) Susanna (Scottish Opera), Despina (De Vlaamse Opera, Scottish Opera) Julietta (National Theatre of Prague), Adina (New Zealand Opera).

 

World premieres include; Toronto Symphony Jezebel, title role, an Oratorio by Robertson Davies and Derek Holman, Opera North Playing Away, L.A. Lola by Howard Brenton and Benedict Mason, Canadian Opera Company The Golden Ass, Fotis, by Robertsonn Davies and Randolph Peters, Psappha Mr Emmett Takes a Walk, 6 female roles, by David Pountney and Peter Maxwell Davies. Edinburgh Festival Mathilde , M.Forestier by Conor Mitchell.

 

Miss Caine’s broadcasts for Radio 3 include Candide, One Touch of Venus, Trouble in Tahiti, The Telephone, Friday Night is Music Night and concerts of Bernstein, Porter and Kern.

 

Her extensive cabaret career has included Jermyn Street, Lauderdale House, Sydmonton ( Newbury Spring Festival), Exeter Festival. She recently made her US cabaret debut at the Halsted Centre in Chicago.

 

Her recordings are Les Miserables( original British cast), The Phantom of The Opera (Canadian album), Anything Goes, Future Sound of London, ( Everyone is Doing Something Without Me) Babes in Toyland and Mr Emmett Takes A Walk.
