The MTA is housed in its own building conveniently situated on the Holloway Road. The venue, which historically was an old shoe factory, was lovingly redeveloped into a dance space in 2006. The MTA takes over the building in October 2011. The space will include two versatile dance studios(one of which can be divided up), complete with sprung floors and air conditioning; a green room area for students and staff; plus additional sound proofed areas for individual singing lessons (and private practise)
The venue is also available for hire when the college isn’t using it, creating a new rehearsal/audition space for Central London. All monies generated from the hire of the building will be put into The MTA Student Hardship Fund. Islington is literally a 10 mins tube ride away from the West End. As a London Borough it’s also home to some iconic theatres e.g. Sadlers Wells, The Almeida, The Kings Head and the Hen and Chickens to name just a few.
