The FunHub returns on September 23rd Book your place for the term and receive a free family ticket to Mother Goose – The MTA panto.

We teach your children Musical Theatre life skills so that they can perform in life, rather than the stage, in other words we are building stage-ready confidence for everyday life!

  1. Giving your child the gift of stage-ready confidence that will stay with them for life
  2. Learning life skills through the mediums of singing, dancing and acting
  3. We’re not training young performers, we’re enhancing young lives through the medium of performing arts
  4. See your child grow in confidence every week.
  5. The FunHub will run in line with The MTA’s award winning structure, with each term lasting 10 weeks. So no more frustrated stops for half terms, etc. Like with The MTA this ensures that your child will progress much quicker

The Teachers

The FunHub staff are all experienced teachers/performers, all of whom are associated with the award winning college The MTA. Each FunHub is overseen by one of the senior faculty.

Your child will be taught by people that they can relate to…and aspire to be like.

Young professionals who are passionate about passing on stage-ready confidence.

All staff will already have extensive experience of teaching children.

All staff will have their DBS, and would have gone through The MTA’s Child Safeguarding Training

Uniquely all staff will also be mentored by a member of The MTA’s senior faculty to ensure that they are implementing the most appropriate and effective teaching methods

How Does It Work?

90 mins sessions every Saturday, divided equally between singing, dancing and acting
Age appropriate streaming:

The Munchkins 4 – 6 yr old                10.30am – Midday
The Artful Dodgers 7 – 9 yr old         1pm – 2.30pm

Each term will have a Musical Theatre theme: Disney, West End, Broadway and Hollywood
No more than 15 children in a class, ensuring that your child gets the attention that they deserve (even if they are shy . . . at first)
Staff will be strict but fair, so your child will be nurtured in a safe, boundaried arena. To get to ‘Hollywood’ you have to listen and behave!

Where Does It Happen?

All classes take place in The MTA, which is situated on the 1st and 2nd floor of The Hub building at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre

Paid metered parking is available on site. We are a 5 mins walk from Seven Sisters Tube, or a 10 mins walk from Tottenham Hale Tube.

What Makes The Funhub Different?

The biggest difference is the unique 4 term structure, so no long holidays of bored children waiting for classes to restart. The FunHub will be running 40 weeks/year. This unique structure will enable your child to maintain their progress after the short 3 week break, as opposed to regressing during a 2 month break!

At least once a year you’ll get a free family ticket to see The MTA’s infamous pantomime, where your child might even see ‘their teacher’ showing them exactly what stage-ready confidence could lead to.

Parents will get a discount to all MTA productions throughout the year

Free family tickets will be available for all other MTA age appropriate productions throughout the year

Opportunities for your child to have backstage tours/meet the cast of all MTA shows

The FunHub is managed by The MTA, an award winning college, which was named School of the Year in The Stage 100 Awards in 2012. The citation named it “a new force for training in the UK”. Statistics have proven that prediction to be accurate. Students of The MTA have fought off stiff competition to be one of just 22 elite people, considered able to be trained -‘The MTA way’.
All profits from The FunHub will be donated to The MTA’s Hardship Fund to ensure that nobody is turned away from training at the college due to financial hardship.

UPDATE:  The MTA was named as The School of the Year 2017, for an unprecedented second time.

Being situated in the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, means that you won’t have to wait for your child in a draughty corridor, or some sterile room – just nip across the courtyard and have coffee and a cake at the Blooming Scent Café. We heartily recommend the Red Velvet Cake.
